We have our own language – Cymraeg - one of the oldest in the world. 

The Millennium Stadium - a 72,500 seater stadium is one of the world largest retractable roof stadiums, providing an all weather venue suitable for sporting and other events.  It is also home to the Wales Rugby Team.

Scale Mount Everest in Wales – by walking the full 186 Miles of the Pembrokeshire coast Path, which involves 35,000 feet of ascent and descent – but with no altitude sickness!!

Who says Wales has a rainy climate – when Dale, Pembrokeshire, is one of the sunniest spots in Britain, with an estimated 41/2 hours of sunshine daily. 

Over 500 tranquil Lakes and reservoirs in Wales – covering a total of about 50 square miles.

 

Offa’s Dyke Path has the largest number of stiles (687) of all the UK National Trails footpaths. 

Gardens are big news in Wales and the Historic Parks and Gardens of Wales has over 70 large and small gardens open to the public.

West Wales boasts over 20 small cheesemakers producing in excess of 70 difference lines of cheeses. 

Cycle the green, green lanes of Wales with over 1000 miles of the National cycle Network now open. 

 

The Millennium Coastal Park, Llanelli is a restored 20Km of valuable coastline dedicated to the provision of Leisure, recreation opportunities and protecting wild life.  

Chirk Castle is a 700 year old marcher fortress, which commands fine views over the surrounding countryside. It was built in the late 13th Century by Roger Mortimer, Justice of North Wales fro Edward I. The castle was sold for £5000 to Sir Thomas Myddelton in 1595 and his descendents continue to live in part of the castle today.
