Travel from other airports: Heathrow & Birmingham
We strongly suggest you travel to Bristol or Cardiff airport, as these are the nearest and most conveniently located for The Celtic Manor Resort.
However, if neither of these airports meet your travel needs, the other airports accessible to the Celtic Manor are: Birmingham Airport (approximately a 2 hour drive) and London Heathrow (an hour and a half drive direct along the M4 motorway).
London Heathrow - General Transport Information
Heathrow airport is a 90 minute drive from the Celtic Manor and is situated on the same motorway (the M4) making it the easiest airport for those who are planning on hiring a car and driving. There is also direct public transport from Heathrow to Newport via coach.
Travelling to all other London airports would add at least an hour to your journey and requires travel either through or around London, increasing the difficulty of the journey.
By coach - Coach travel from Heathrow is easier than the train. National Express runs a direct coach service from London Heathrow to Newport train station. There is approximately one journey every hour and journey time is around 2 ½ hours. Single tickets are approximately £31.50.
Hiring a cars – Alternatively, driving to the Celtic Manor from Heathrow is also fairly easy as the M4 motorway runs direct between the airport and the Celtic Manor. Cars can be hired direct from Heathrow airport. Costs for hiring a 1.6 Ford Focus for 5 days with pick up and drop off at Heathrow airport have been quoted at approximately £95 - £150.

By train - From all Heathrow Terminals follow signs for trains or the Heathrow Express. You will need to travel to London Paddington Station where there are train connections direct to Newport. Trains from Heathrow to London Paddington run every 15 minutes and journey time is 15 minutes. A single ticket for the Heathrow Express starts from £15.50 (if bought from a ticket machine/office, it is more expensive to get it on the train). Trains run from London Paddington to Newport every hour, single tickets are from approximately £53.
Alternatively catch the RailAir Coach from Heathrow to Reading train station. The Rail/Air Link Coach to Reading and Airbus A2 leave from each Terminal. Access is easy and well sign posted. Change at Reading for a train to Newport. Trains leave from Reading every hour and single tickets are from approximately £48.

Birmingham Airport
By train - The airport rail station “Birmingham International” is linked to the Passenger Terminals by the free, frequent Air-Rail Link. From Birmingham International catch a train to Birmingham New Street (Centro). Change trains at Birmingham New Street for a train to Newport (Alphaline). Trains to Newport from Birmingham run every hour, singles from approximately £31.80.
By coach - National express runs coaches from Birmingham Airport to Newport via Birmingham Coach Station. Frequency: 4 per day Monday - Sunday. Single tickets cost approximately £22.20.
